Mrs. Alyn Szymanski - Principal

Mrs. Alyn Szymanski, Principal

Mrs. Alyn Szymanski has proudly served our Cabarrus County Schools community for the past 10 years as assistant principal, Program Choice Coordinator, and as proud Principal of Mount Pleasant Elementary for three years. A native Ohioan,  she has obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from Baldwin Wallace University,  master's degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from Appalachian State University and Educational Administration from UNC Charlotte and is a graduate of the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program. Mrs. Szymanski is a proud MPES/Cabarrus County Schools mother of two and is dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for every student.

Mrs. Brandi Gray - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Brandi GrayBorn and raised in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Brandi Gray is a proud alumna of Cabarrus County Schools, where she received her K-12 education. She went on from there to graduate from Pfeiffer University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Afterward, Mrs. Gray served as a music educator in Cabarrus County Schools for 14 years. In 2022, she earned her Master's degree in School Administration from Western Carolina University and completed her administrative internship at Odell Primary. Now, she is honored to serve the Mount Pleasant community as assistant principal, dedicated to fostering a positive and successful academic environment for all students. In her spare time, Mrs. Gray enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, who is also a CCS alumnus, her son, who is currently a CCS student, and their yellow labrador retriever, Max.

Mr. Dawson Roberts - Assistant Principal

Dawson Roberts

After graduating from Georgia College and State University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Mr. Roberts started his career as a high school English teacher in 2014 in Milledgeville, Georgia. While teaching, he earned his Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership. Later, he served as an Instructional Technology Specialist and as the designer and Director of Baldwin Online Academy. In 2021, he moved to Cabarrus County with his wife where he worked as an Instructional Technology Facilitator for the Early Colleges and J.N. Fries Middle School. He also completed his principal internship at J.N. Fries.

Mr. Roberts and his wife enjoy exploring North Carolina with their dogs: Clover and Jackson.
